We've recently made some changes to the site's main page that you may have noticed.
Many folks have asked us to make sure that security continues to be the top focus on the site while not cutting down on the community feel that makes the site what it is. As such, we've set the main page up so that only threads from security-related forums make it to the main page. All the normal "general" forums are still operating, and will continue to be active, however they won't show up on the site's main page going forward.
Thanks,
intmon (Scott)

Out of curiosity, which forums will appear on the front or which won't appear on the front?
I've noticed a few security related posts aren't making it and I think it may be due to the forum they are in..

Just a suggestion, you might want this forum to show up on the main page. I didn't know what the heck was happening to my posts until MsMittens was nice enough to point me to this thread. Any future changes may also be something that hits the main board so everyone knows what is changing and what effect it may have.

Good suggestion about adding this to the list to show up on the front page -- I think it has been so slow it didn't seem worth it.
Regarding not knowing whath appened to your posts -- did you select the option to have the site notify you by email when someone posts to a thread you're in? It's in your User Options.
Then you don't have to check back until you get an email.

In there lies my confusion, I was getting the emails but when I checked back there was nothing on the main page (where I expected it to be). I posted a thread in the 'bugs' forum only to be told by MsMittens that changes were made. There's is my point, if it (the thread about the changes) had hit the main page, I would have had some idea as to what was going on.
Hey no big deal, I'll get over it, but the people on this site need to know what's going on. information on changes to the system, I think are important and to to be communicated to the community.

Very good idea Admins!
The main page was, at one point, practically a GCC forum of its own!
Bring back the security
And i also agree with DJM's suggestion of showing this New Features forum on the main page, because i too didnt have a clue what was going on.
It took Negative to fill me in!
Cheers

Heya Intmon, Jupman,
Just a thought here.....
I think it would be nice to have an underlying active 'non-security' main page, just accesible for members, where every general chat, how do i,...., as well as your new features forum can be posted.
Me too was confused, 'till I saw this thread suspecting there is something new....
If there would be a second 'active' member main page, everyone could easily keep track of new general posts,
it also would be a new feature to gain members ;) and so on ...
If this was already suggested, sorry for this, let me know.... (and I'll delete this one) :p
Greetz,
*** edit *** : Hrmm... maybe my post should be in 'site suggestions' , .... ;)

I can see the main page is going to be blank then because most of the time members just post the links like I do to some other security or free download related and I noticed that it doesn't even appear on the link says view some other active topics. Just yesterday one of your thread was showing the date back in 1970 and the thread was not even working and sometimes view other active topic link shows just two active topics and just on another second it was full with three pages. I suggest take a look if there is a bug.
But you are the owner of this site and I know this not a democracy and you can run this board anyway you want and we (members) just have to adjust with that.
Oh I miss JP.

Ok well this is all well and good cept my posts and more importantly my quesitons asked are now not even getting viewed.
I was about to report this as a bug too until I hit this forum and saw that its already been adddressed....
so I guess eventually ppl will get back to reading posts, even if they have to go digging for them. and I also agree, the front page is probably going to be very bare... if not filled with misuse. Ms. Mittens, I see a lot of post moving in your future.
And for the record I too miss JP.....

I'm certainly losing interest in this site very fast..
"MySQL" errors over the past few days have made the forums unavailable..
Looks? hmmm so what! But some of the "Chit Chat" posts are as valuable to members as are the security threads..
How many times have a hardware questions turned up in chit chat? ok there are other sites that are dedicated to this (virtualdr.com) .. but why can't the people who are looking for help on this site not have their threads available to to view from the main page..
Yes I know that we should view the forums Index is where we should be and helping out in the forums of our greatest interest, but the Home/Index page showing these posts certainly is great to help spot those cries for help..

I just sent you a PM announcing that the scroll-bars are grey today. I forgot to sent you a PM yesterday (they were blue yesterday...). Sorry about that. In the PM, you'll also find me announcing that ads have been added.
Always happy to help,
Neg.
PS: no need to get rude... you are not forced to visit AntiOnline or anything... I hope you'll have time to read all PM's I'm going to send you concerning AO changes ;)
Tampabay: follow Greekgoddess' advice and create a better one.
Und3ertak3r: MYSQL errors have never appeared before?
If you select Show Unanswered Posts from the drop-down menu at the top of the main page, you'll see a list of ALL recent posts that haven't been answered yet (including the ones in GCC, Cosmos,...). That's the quickest way to spot those cries for help...

Neg,
No offence but, what I meant was drastic changes such as threads not appearing on the front page.
Und3ertak3r, it's not your system , it did happen , SQL error page was displayed.I've seen it as well.
So Negative, are you the system adminitrator now? We dont seem to get Jupman answering these questions.I thought he replaced JP.
by the way , I did like the blue scrolling bar!
ta,
