Here it is folks. This is one of the longer issues we've had and is stuffed with all sorts of info. Remember to use Adobe to read the file after downloading and unzipping it. You can get Acrobat Reader from here (http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html)

Deadline for Newsletter #5: Friday September 20th, 2002. We are looking for articles of any type plus puzzles (those of you creating cryptographic puzzles.. you want to create a doozy for the newsletter?)

Thank you to those that contributed and enjoy. =)

how complex would you like the encryption to be, and what type of hints (if any)? very good newsletter.

Well, the encryption would be something that would challenge users. I've noticed the ones that have been going on in the cryptographic forum and that's where I got the idea. =)

Hints would be up to you. Maybe have ones that go from easy to challenger.

Arrg. I already found a spelling error in my submission. Jeez, couldn't you have told me when it was coming out? I was gonna do a last minute checkover and send a version with formatting... :p Nice letter though... although personally some of that code would look nicer when single-spaced... in fixed width font... bleh :D

The previous newsletters should be all listed here (http://www.antionline.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=63). Just look for an attached file on the first post of each thread.

Terr>> I have pointed out these mistakes etc to MsMittens. She tries to proof read and correct any errors she finds. Obviously she has a job so dont be surprised by a few mistakes.

That's brilliant! The first AO Newsletter I've seen, all goodness. Can I just try submitting some related cartoon panels or something, I'd love to contribute but I'm only any good at art stuff which didn't actually feature anyway...*sigh*...but no, that could be something to add to it right?!

Ahh i love the newsletter. It should be globally distributed. Every kiosk in the world should have at least 20 copies.

twas really good .looking fwd to more issuese and hope to write for it someday

though i think that the downloading method shud be changed so that it supports Download Accelerator Plus etc. cuz in my place connection speeds as well as stability is very low and it takes helluva time even just to d/l 300 kb without dap

Arrrg, I'm have a problem with opening the News letters. When I try too this pops out:

"There was an error opening this document. File does not begin with '%PDF-' "

I hope I figure out how to open this soon. I've heard great stuff about the news letters and I want to read them!

Take care

::Chelle::

Okie, never mind. I found what the problem was. It was the program that opened my zip files. It was messed up. Dunno how though... (scratches elbow) Anywho, I reinstalled the program and now I can open the news letter!!! Sweet victory ^.^ Now I can finally read and enjoy what these things have to offer.
