Greetings All:

AntiOnline is soon going to be adding a live online radio station to the site. Along with hit music (that will be fully licensed), we'll also be providing security news breaks, radio talk shows, and all of the other bells and whistles that you'd expect from AntiOnline.

We're currently in the process of licensing music, and designing our playlists. So, we want to know what you want to listen to! We have plenty of demographic surveys, so we know how old you are, etc. etc. blah blah, but when it comes right down to it, we need to know what you like!

So, please take the survey above, and leave any comments or ideas that you might have about the station below.

Thanks!

Does it have to be narrowed down so much? I like techno as much as pop or rap. I like them all, good artist, good song, etc. Don't have too many (if any) country favorites though :p My question is, are you going to be limited to just one type JP?

JP
September 7th, 2001, 05:05 PM
Greetings:

No, it won't be limited to one type. We're trying to figure out what percentage of the different genres we should be playing. Which is why you're only allowed to choose one option on the survey.

Whats a Genre? You definitely are one of your own... I'm pretty sure someone can give you a dictionary definition of genre. It's French, btw.
Oh yeah, French is a language. And a dictionary is a book with lots of words in it to explain other words. And a language is something used to express yourself. There are lots of them. French, for example. And word is a word. French also is a word. And French also is a language? Damn, you got me confused. I'm not used to difficult questions, you see. A question is something like 'what's a genre?'. And genre is French. It also is a word. I'm confused. That's three words. Fweeeewww....

Although I'm not sure how "technical" you're willing to get with this on-line music idea, something like Spinner.com would be a good model to work off of. Different styles of music are listed, you just select which style you would like to listen to rather than having one incoming feed that tries to appeal to all the masses.

You're mixing two people up here, poncho! The sentence 'I hope you die' wasn't adressed to me in the first place (so tell that to Wolf) -- so you're talking to Wolf here -- and the 'snap'-part is about me -- so you're talking to Negative here. Capice?

For those of you who may not like the music you can always listen to other channels. Really I think each day should be dedicated to a certain type of music. A little Hardcore to get you going on Monday, Techno Tuesday, Blues and Jazz on wed, Fat alternative on thursday, and Hip hop / techno friday to get you jammin for the weekend. Then on the weekend just a mixture. I think that a lot of people scowl music only because they have friends that say it sux!!! I started out on country then went to hardcore punk with the Dead Milkmen, Ramones, Cirlce Jerks,etc.... Then moved to rap/hip hop, and end time moved back into alternative / rock. Then started folling the grateful dead and phish which introduced me to all kinds of folk. Now I listen to some bluegrass, blues, alternative, hard core, rap, you name it I jam to it!!

Personally, I think an on-line radio for AO is a great idea. Though you may consider a prescheduled layout of what music genre will be offered at any particular time. I only say this do to the percentages of varying tastes being extremely close. I’m sure you have already decided some sort of measure.

I can’t wait to tune in and here what you have to offer, I’m sure it will beat listening to my drab collection of Mp3s.
